Mass media responsible for elected radical

Abstract:
With the election of Barack Obama to the Presidency, the American people have a few problems they need to address. The most pressing of these issues is the mass media.

The American media was once described as the fourth branch of the government: an entity that would let all of the American people know what the government was doing....

Oh, John! How wrong you are. :) If anything, the American media has risen its standards consistently over the past two to three hundred years. If you want to look for media bias and blindness, look back to the post-revolution era, and even into the 1800s. Media had been an advocacy stump, and the "Mother Jones" and "National Review" of their day was the standard for getting information.

MSNBC should be renamed the "Obama Worshippers' Network", I will agree. And Fox News should probably be renamed "Glorified Tabloid for Republicans", I hope you might see. CNN has its moments, but its pretty fair. Newspapers and magazines vary widely in their deliverance of the news.

But it's about American choice. Attacks on the media are pointless because as much as you'd love to believe, there is no real agenda. Major news organizations are owned by major corporations, and with that conventional line of thought, they should all be right-wing kookoos railing against taxes half the time.

The Ayers story was a "so-what" affair of association, or maybe people just didn't care. The "infanticide" crap is about as far fetched as it gets. I know Limbaugh has an excuse (drugs have an effect on mental health), but his audience should know better than to drink his kool-aid.

Blaming the media for an 8 million vote margin is pretty wild. I'm just saying. :)

Thanks!

Absolutely correct, John! The media is very biased, regardless of their claims to be otherwise. Thank you for taking a stand and saying what needs to be said!

Unfortunately, John Kay's opinion piece substitutes right wing extremist allegations and vague accusations in place of evidence and facts.

Personally I heard more negitive news/media reports about Obama than I heard positive.

Actually, John's claim can be backed up! I did an entire paper on the Media Bias in the election. I posted it on my blog check the facts for yourself. Its under Media Bias.

your blog is packed with the same right wing propaganda as John Kay's opinion piece, and you offer it as evidence that the media slants left? LOL

My blog is filled with my opinions, obviously they are right leaning and I make no apology for that. I'm not a journalist, its not my job to be fair and unbiased. But the paper I wrote regarding Liberal Bias in the media was written using completely neutral sources, and very reliable sources such as the Pew Research Center.

The TV companies are in business to make money, not be fair and balanced. I heard that there is free news that is more fair and balanced.
